Base price ($ per gallon) The diesel price already built into the carrier’s base rate, as written in your contract. The surcharge only covers fuel above this price. Many contracts use $1.20 to $1.25. Truck miles per gallon The fuel economy your contract assumes, usually between 5 and 6.5. Trip miles (optional) Enter a trip length to see the surcharge for that trip.
